
Melon smoothie with slivered almonds
Smoothies are a perfect start to the day. This is a great recipe to use up over-ripe bananas. Add some cantaloupe melon, and you will get a delicate hint of melon flavour in your smoothie.

- 1/2 banana
- 1/2 cantaloupe melon
- 250ml almond milk
- 1 tbsp almond slivers

- Cut the banana into small pieces
- Cut the melon in chunks
- Add the fruit and almond milk to a blender and blend untill it's all combined
- Roast the slivered almonds in a dry skillet, untill they begin to color, be carefull that they don't burn
- Serve the melon smoothie with the roasted almonds
