Melon smoothie with slivered almonds

Smoothies are a perfect start to the day. This is a great recipe to use up over-ripe bananas. Add some cantaloupe melon, and you will get a delicate hint of melon flavour in your smoothie.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 cantaloupe melon
  • 250ml almond milk
  • 1 tbsp almond slivers

Preparation
  • Cut the banana into small pieces
  • Cut the melon in chunks
  • Add the fruit and almond milk to a blender and blend untill it's all combined
  • Roast the slivered almonds in a dry skillet, untill they begin to color, be carefull that they don't burn
  • Serve the melon smoothie with the roasted almonds
